Role Overview You'll be the first marketing/growth hire at Skyhook – a "Swiss army knife" who can move from high-level messaging to hands-on lead generation and follow-ups. This role combines elements you'll see in growth marketing / demand generation / developer marketing / SDR roles at devtool companies: driving top-of-funnel pipeline, crafting messaging for developers/DevOps, and running scrappy outbound and inbound experiments. If you enjoy figuring things out end-to-end – from "who exactly is our ICP?" all the way to "what copy will make this CTO/Dev/DevOps lead actually reply?" – you'll be a great fit. What You'll Do Lead Generation & Pipeline Building Own top-of-funnel lead generation for our core ICP (CTO / VP R&D / Head of Platform / DevOps leads at early-growth SaaS companies) Research and build highly targeted prospect lists (by stack, cloud, tooling, headcount, hiring patterns, etc.) Design and run outbound sequences (email, LinkedIn, sometimes phone) that feel thoughtful and relevant, not spammy Leverage developer communities and Reddit (plus other channels) to find, engage, and qualify the right prospects Qualify leads, book intro calls, and keep the pipeline organized in our CRM Experiment with paid / directory / listing / community channels that work well for developer tools & DevOps products Messaging & Positioning Help sharpen our positioning and messaging for developers, DevOps engineers, and technical leaders Write and iterate on core assets: website copy, one-pagers, feature briefs, outbound templates, and talk tracks Translate deeply technical capabilities (Kubernetes, Argo, observability stack) into concrete benefits for founders and engineering leaders Content & Campaigns Plan and execute small, focused campaigns around themes like migration, self-service platforms, and DevOps automation Own a lean content engine: blog posts, landing pages, email drips, and nurture sequences Coordinate with founders/engineers to turn customer wins into case studies and social proof Sales Enablement & Process Help founders prepare for sales conversations: briefing docs, objection-handling notes, competitive intel Maintain a small, sharp set of sales assets: deck, battlecards, FAQ, ROI snippets Ensure feedback from calls and POCs flows back into messaging and campaigns What You've Done 2+ years in growth marketing, demand generation, SDR/outbound sales, or developer marketing Experience working with developer, DevOps, or infrastructure products Hands-on experience running multi-channel campaigns that created pipeline, not just impressions Strong written English; clear, direct, non-fluffy copy for technical audiences Proven ability to operate in small, scrappy teams Nice-to-Haves Background with developer marketing / DevRel / technical content for devtools or infra Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed/Series A) as one of the first marketing/growth hires Familiarity with Kubernetes / DevOps tools (Argo, Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform, etc.) What Success Looks Like A repeatable outbound engine that generates a steady flow of qualified meetings Clear, tested messaging and positioning that resonates with founders and technical leaders A small set of channels that we know work with basic dashboards tracking performance Founders feeling like they finally have a partner in growth
