The company Highlight is an AI-first mobile gaming studio, building the next generation of mobile games. Games that couldn't be built before AI, where creation is the gameplay itself. We're looking for a Game Developer to turn that possibility into something people love to play. You'll build gameplay, interfaces, and the systems behind them in Unity, taking features from an early idea to a polished mobile experience. You'll care about the code, the performance, and the small details that make a game feel right. The role As Game Developer, you'll work directly with the founders to shape and build the game. You'll turn rough ideas into playable features, build the client logic and supporting backend services, and bring our AI systems into the experience. You'll take responsibility for how each feature behaves in players' hands. The content is generated live, so no two sessions look the same. Gameplay and UI need to respond to that variety without feeling unpredictable or slow. This role combines hands-on Unity development with product judgment: knowing what to build, how to make it reliable, and when another iteration will make it more fun. Responsibilities Take features from ideation through launch, implementing the client logic and the backend endpoints or services they need. Build reliable, maintainable systems, with attention to performance, testing, and scale. Collaborate with the founders, product, data, and art to prototype mechanics, refine features, and get improvements into players' hands quickly. Act like a one-man-team with a team player mindset Ideal profile Strong programming fundamentals and experience shipping production software. Experience building for iOS or Android, including profiling and improving performance on real devices. A sharp eye for gameplay and interaction. You notice when the timing, feedback, or flow feels off. Self-directed and comfortable turning an open-ended idea into something playable, then improving it with feedback. Nice to have Unity or other game engine Experience writing backend features in Node.js, C#, or a similar environment. Experience taking a consumer mobile game through launch and live updates. One more thing We're building games that only exist because of AI, and the game developer shapes how that actually feels to play. A genuine love of games, and an obsession with what makes them feel great, is not optional.
