Backend Software Engineer
## About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Python Software Developer with 2–3 years of hands‑on experience building backend systems, APIs, and scalable applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean code, problem‑solving, and working in a collaborative engineering environment. ## Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain Python-based software solutions and backend services * Implement robust, scalable, and efficient code following best practices * Build and integrate RESTful APIs or microservices * Work with databases (SQL or NoSQL) including schema design and optimization * Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Frontend) to deliver end‑to‑end features * Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement * Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code * Write unit tests and ensure high test coverage * Document system architecture, processes, and code when needed ## Required Qualifications * 2–3 years of professional experience in Python development * Strong understanding of core Python concepts (OOP, data structures, error handling) * Experience with at least one major Python framework * Solid experience with relational or non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) * Familiarity with version control systems (Git) * Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs * Knowledge of asynchronous programming (asyncio) is a plus * Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments * Good debugging skills and familiarity with logging/monitoring tools ## Qualifications ### Education: Bachelor's Degree ### Skills ### Certifications: ### Languages: ### Years of Experience: 2 - 4 Years ### Work Experience: ## Additional Information ### ### Shift: Day (Israel) ### ### Travel: No ### ### Relocation Eligible: No ### Referral Payment Plan: None Applied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
